Tree care plans

Begin with a visit to your property by our Certified Arborist to examine your trees and decide if any tree care work needs to be done. Some of the things we look for are any obvious safety issues, tree pruning and trimming needs, and the general health and condition of the trees. Then we develop a plan that addresses these issues and fits your budget! These plans can be as little as one visit but often consist of doing some work each year for several years. We have worked with many of our customers for 7-10 years providing them with the best of tree service! ^top

HOA Tree care plans

Same as above but created for all the common trees in a neighborhood. If you belong to an HOA, call us for more information about neighborhood tree care plans, tree removals, tree pruning and any other tree service you might need.  (Also, for references about neighborhood trees we currently care for.) ^top

Disease diagnosis and treatment

Trees are living things! They can be injured, catch diseases and be attacked by insects. Some of these are fatal! We not only diagnose and treat the disease; we look for underlying causes that often lead to poor tree health and then apply the correct tree service in order to rejuvenate the tree. ^top

Fertilization and soil enhancement

Urban trees often have it tough. Most often their environment is downright hostile! Construction damage, poor soil conditions and lack of nutrients can lead to poor tree health. We can greatly improve tree health by repairing soil conditions through several methods including pressure injected sub-soil fertilization on all trees. (Pine Tree, Oak Tree, River Birch, Maple Tree, Sweet Gum Tree, Holly Tree, Magnolia Tree or any other you might have) ^top

Expert pruning

Many books are devoted to the subject of proper tree pruning. Unskilled tree pruning often causes more damage than good. Proper tree pruning is the single most important factor in developing trees in the residential setting. Consideration must be given to proper clearance over streets, yards, houses, and lighting, as well as proper branch development, overall height and width. Defects must be identified and eliminated, and trees should be developed to be resistant to storms. The result of great tree pruning is that the trees never look “pruned” at all, they just look healthy and like they grew perfectly into their surroundings. ^top

Hurricane evaluation and preparation

As Certified Arborists with years of hurricane experience, we are uniquely qualified to evaluate trees from the standpoint of hurricane safety. Want to know if a tree should be removed, pruned back or if it can be made safer? Call us! We can give you answers based on years of experience and review of the latest scientific studies. ^top

Expert tree removal

We are truly experts at difficult tree removals. If you have a tree in a difficult area such as near a pool or house, or in your sensitive garden, we can remove it with or without equipment as if it were never there to begin with. We haul away all the debris, grind the stump and clean up thoroughly. Let us take care of all your tree removal needs. ^top

Emergency tree work

Blue Ox Tree Care has been through many of the hurricanes, including Fran and Bertha. We are recognized by local insurance companies as safe and trustworthy, and are often recommended by them. We are rigging and crane experts, as we can safely and quickly remove trees from houses. (Usually these tree services are fully covered by insurance.) ^top

Consulting

We offer consultations with our tree experts on a wide range of issues from construction preservation
(see below) to landscape planning to monetary tree appraisals and much more. ^top

Construction tree preservation

Many people imagine their dream home covered in the shade of mature beautiful trees. Unfortunately, construction often damages and kills those very trees. Builders are NOT Arborists, and generally have little understanding of how to really protect these large, living organisms during construction. If you have a lot with beautiful trees, you must have an arborist BEFORE you begin to clear for construction. ^top

Cabling & bracing

Some trees have inherent defects that make them susceptible to splitting apart. This often results in the loss of the tree. We know what to look for and how to protect your tree from damage in a storm. ^top

Large tree planting and moving

Today, large trees are more available and affordable to plant than in the past. But how big is too big to move? As Arborists, we know how to choose trees that are free of defects and disease, and will quickly grow into large beautiful shade trees, and which trees can survive being moved. ^top

Lightning protection

Lightning strikes on trees often result in tree death and property damage when the lightning jumps to the house. Properly installed, lightning protection systems can protect your tree from damage, channeling the lightning harmlessly into the ground. We are experts in these systems. ^top
